Space Shuttle Launch - Fine Art Print With Flown Fragments
This exclusive fine art print by space artist Sina Rathai (@artofaspacenerd) combines art with historic flown Space Shuttle material. Carefully integrated into each print are genuine flown fragments of Solar Insulation Blanket from Space Shuttle mission STS-93, making this artwork a true eyecatcher for space enthusiasts. Every fragment has been individually cut and placed by the artist, to ensure every piece is one-of-a-kind!
Printed on premium Hahnemühle fine art paper using archival pigment inks, this A4 (21x29,7cm) print in an A3 frame (29,7x42,0 cm) faithfully reproduces every nuance of the original drawing — nearly indistinguishable from the hand-drawn piece itself. Sizes, placing and shapes of the flown pieces may vary.
STS-93 launched aboard Space Shuttle Columbia on July 23, 1999, and became one of the most significant Shuttle missions in history. Commanded by Eileen Collins, it marked the first time a woman commanded a Space Shuttle mission. During its flight, Columbia successfully deployed the Chandra X-ray Observatory, one of NASA’s Great Observatories.
