What do astronauts feel when they first see our planet from space?
The Artist × Astronaut Edition is inspired by that very question. Terry Virts, former NASA astronaut and commander of the International Space Station, has experienced the profound sense of awe as he looked over the Earth from space known as the Overview Effect. Through his photography of our planet, he has sought to capture and share this overwhelming perspective with people on Earth. Inspired by Terry Virts photography, space artist Sina Rathai painted scenes he saw from space. This particular artwork, titled „Orbital Courier“ depicts a SpaceX Cargo Dragon spacecraft (the Orbital Courier) a coastline as seen from space in the background.
Created in collaboration with the View From Above exhibition, this limited-edition fine art print is restricted to just 43 pieces worldwide and measures 21.0 × 29.7 cm (29.7 × 42 cm framed), with each print personally signed by astronaut Terry Virts and space artist Sina Rathai.
