STS-94 display with flown thermal blanket
Own an authentic artifact from Space Shuttle Columbia’s STS-94 mission, carrying the Microgravity Science Laboratory (MSL-1) into orbit. This collectible contains a genuine flown thermal blanket fragment, material that helped insulate and protect Columbia during her journey into space.
The flown piece is preserved in a laser-engraved wooden display with acrylic cover (6x9cm), featuring the official STS-94 mission patch, orbiter Columbia (OV-102), and full mission details. The elegant design highlights the artifact while presenting it in a museum-style format.
STS-94 launched on July 1, 1997, and returned on July 17, 1997, completing 251 orbits and traveling 6.2 million miles. The mission was a successful reflight of STS-83, which had to be aborted during its first launch. It was also the first time ever that a crew conducted a reflight of a mission. In orbit, they focused on groundbreaking research, including combustion science, fluid physics, and materials processing in microgravity.

STS-94 was a mission with a very rare status - reflight! After problems with the energy system during the mission STS-83, it was decided the mission was to be reflown due to its high scientific significance. Many experiments were conducted in fields such as materials science, chemistry and physics. Finally, after almost 16 flight days, the crew and technology met all goals and Space Shuttle Columbia touched down safely.
