Laminated STS-82 presentation with flown payload bay liner
In February 1997, Space Shuttle Discovery lifted off on STS-82, the second mission to service and upgrade the Hubble Space Telescope. Over ten days in orbit, the crew performed a series of demanding EVAs, installing new instruments and ensuring that Hubble would continue delivering breathtaking views of the universe.
Encased in this display (21x15cm) is a fragment of Payload Bay Liner that actually flew aboard Space Shuttle Discovery during STS-82. It spent more than 10 days in orbit while the crew carried out one of NASA’s most iconic servicing flights. A genuine flown relic, perfect for anyone who wants to own a connection to the story of Hubble and the Shuttle program.
This presentation is laminated and verified on the backside by collector "Ken Havekotte from Space Coast Cover Service, Meritt Island, Florida". It comes with the shown display stand and a protective folder from The New Space Age.
