STS-82 (Discovery) display with flown Payload Bay Liner
Own a piece of the Space Shuttle era with this flown Payload Bay Liner fragment from STS-82.
This artifact of Space Shuttle Discovery comes presented in a laser-engraved wooden display (6x9cm) with an engraved acrylic top, held together by four hand-mounted screws. The display features a print of the STS-82 mission patch, an engraved line drawing of Space Shuttle Discovery on the launch pad, and mission data including launch and landing dates as well as the number of orbits. The flown fragment is mounted prominently in the display, letting you admire the material that once shielded Space Shuttle Discovery’s cargo bay during 80 orbits around Earth.
STS-82 launched on February 11, 1997, and returned on February 21, 1997, after 10 days in space. During the mission, astronauts conducted five spacewalks to service and upgrade the legendary Hubble Space Telescope.
Handmade by The New Space Age in Germany. Size and shape of the flown piece may vary. Although it is possible to remove the screws and disassemble the display we advise you not to do so since the flown piece might get lost. Clean only with a microfiber cloth.
